By browsing this website or completing a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use this website or make a booking.

Bookings and confirmation
A booking is only confirmed once you have completed checkout and we have received your payment (in full or the deposit portion, whichever payment plan is offered and selected for that tour). Until then, your booking is held as pending and is not guaranteed — pending bookings that remain unpaid are automatically released after the hold period shown at checkout, so that date and time can be offered to other guests.
Bookings normally require at least one full day’s advance notice; same-day availability, where shown, is not guaranteed until confirmed. Tour availability, itinerary details, and pickup areas shown on the site reflect what we currently offer and may change without notice until a booking is confirmed.
You are responsible for checking that the names, guest count, tour date, and pickup details you enter at checkout are correct. We are not responsible for a missed pickup or an incorrect booking caused by information you entered incorrectly, though we will always do our best to help fix it.
Prices, currency, and taxes
Prices are set in our store currency and may also be shown to you converted into a second currency for convenience — the converted figure is a guide only, rounded in the guest’s favour, and the amount actually charged is always the store-currency amount shown at checkout and confirmed on your receipt. Displayed prices already include the taxes and fees stated on the tour page unless noted otherwise; any pickup surcharge, extra activity, or child pricing is calculated and shown to you before you pay.
We reserve the right to correct a pricing error on the website (for example a technical fault that displays an obviously wrong amount). If this happens on a booking you already paid for, we will contact you with the corrected price and give you the option to proceed at the corrected price, change your booking, or receive a full refund.
Payment methods
Depending on what is enabled for a given tour, you may pay by:
- Bank transfer — a manual transfer to the account shown at checkout; your booking is confirmed once we have verified the funds have arrived.
- Xendit — card, virtual account, or e-wallet, processed instantly through Xendit’s own secure payment page.
- PayPal — card or PayPal balance, processed instantly through PayPal’s own secure checkout.
Where a tour allows it, you may be offered the choice of paying the full amount at booking, a deposit with the balance due later, or — where enabled — reserving now and paying later; the options actually available to you are always shown at checkout for that specific tour. We do not see or store your card number or bank login at any point in this process.
Changes and cancellations by us
Bali is an active volcanic and tropical environment, and some of our tours (trekking, jeep, and outdoor activities in particular) depend on conditions we do not control. We may need to modify, postpone, or cancel a tour because of:
- unsafe weather, sea, or trail conditions;
- an official government or park-authority closure or advisory, including volcanic activity alerts;
- a group size falling below the minimum required to run a tour safely or viably;
- circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including natural disaster, civil unrest, or public health measures.
If we cancel or are unable to run a tour you booked for one of these reasons, you will be offered a free reschedule to another available date or a full refund of what you paid for that tour — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for how refunds are processed.
Your responsibilities as a guest
To keep your tour running safely and on schedule, you agree to:
- be ready at the agreed pickup point and time — tours cannot wait indefinitely for a late guest, and a missed pickup may be treated as a no-show under our Refund & Cancellation Policy;
- bring a valid photo ID matching the name on the booking where requested;
- honestly disclose, at the time of booking or before the tour starts, any medical condition, physical limitation, pregnancy, or fitness concern relevant to a physically demanding activity (see “Health, safety, and assumption of risk” below);
- ensure any minor on the booking is accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult for the entire tour;
- follow the safety instructions, briefings, and reasonable directions of your guide or driver at all times;
- behave respectfully towards guides, drivers, other guests, and local communities, and respect local customs and sacred sites visited during the tour;
- not attend a tour while under the influence of alcohol or drugs to a degree that would make the activity unsafe.
We may refuse to let a guest join or continue a tour, without refund, if their conduct puts themselves, other guests, or staff at risk.
Health, safety, and assumption of risk
Many of our tours take place outdoors in natural terrain and involve inherent physical risk that cannot be completely eliminated even with proper guiding, equipment, and safety procedures — this includes, depending on the tour, pre-dawn high-altitude trekking (Mount Batur is an active volcano reaching roughly 1,717 metres), off-road jeep and ATV driving, hot spring bathing, water-based activities, and travel on Balinese roads and mountain trails.
By booking a tour, you confirm that:
- you are in adequate health and physical condition for the specific activity you are booking, and you have disclosed any condition that could affect your safety or that of others;
- you understand the activity carries genuine risk of injury, illness, or in rare cases death, that no guide or safety procedure can reduce to zero, and you voluntarily accept that risk by choosing to take part;
- you will follow your guide’s instructions and will not attempt any part of the activity your guide advises against;
- you are responsible for your own belongings during the tour, and we are not liable for lost, damaged, or stolen personal items except where caused by our proven negligence.
Travel and activity insurance. We strongly recommend that every guest holds travel insurance that covers adventure activities, medical treatment, and evacuation in Indonesia, for the full duration of their trip. Bali Expedition does not provide travel, medical, or accident insurance, and going without it is at your own risk. Our guides carry basic first-aid training and equipment appropriate to the activity, but this is not a substitute for professional medical care, and the remoteness of some tour locations means emergency medical assistance may take significant time to arrive.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Indonesian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
Accounts and wishlist
Creating an account is optional and is only used to save your booking history and wishlist for convenience. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.
Reviews and other content you submit
If you leave a review, you confirm it reflects your own genuine experience and does not contain anything unlawful, defamatory, or misleading. We may moderate, edit for clarity, decline to publish, or remove any review at our discretion, including reviews we reasonably believe are fake, incentivised outside our own promotions, or posted by someone who did not take the tour.
Intellectual property
The text, photos, graphics, logos, and design of this website belong to Bali Expedition or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and share pages of this site for personal, non-commercial use; you may not copy, reproduce, or republish our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indonesian law, Bali Expedition’s total liability to you arising from a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that specific booking. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including missed flights or connecting travel arrangements, loss of enjoyment, or costs you incur that are not a direct result of our own breach. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including death or personal injury caused by our proven gross negligence.
Where a tour is delivered by a third-party operator we work with, we select and vet that operator in good faith, but that operator is responsible for the safe and lawful conduct of the activity on the ground.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Bali Expedition against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your wilful misconduct, or your violation of local law during a tour, except to the extent caused by our own negligence.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any dispute arising from these Terms or a booking will first be attempted to be resolved amicably by contacting us directly; if that fails, the dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Indonesian courts having authority over [city/regency of registration — please complete], Bali.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect a new payment method or a change in local regulation. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continuing to use the site or book a tour after a change means you accept the updated Terms; changes are not applied retroactively to a booking you already confirmed.
